Self-Adhesive Bituminous Waterproofing Membrane Installing Guideline
Ensure that the surfaces are adequately prepared as previously described.
Unroll the membrane and measure the appropriate length required for the designated area.
Allow the membrane to warm in sunlight prior to application.
Begin by peeling back the release paper from one end and firmly press the membrane onto the surface.
Continue to remove the backing as you advance.
Apply firm pressure to ensure the membrane adheres properly. The edges of the membrane should overlap by a minimum of 5-8 cm, while the top should overlap by at least 15 cm.
For an even finish, utilize a rubber hand roller to press the membrane, starting from the center and moving outward, to eliminate any air bubbles and creases, ensuring a secure bond with the surface.
It is important to note that the aluminum foil backing should remain intact.
Additionally, this product is classified as a self-adhesive material, and a single application will yield optimal waterproofing results. In cases where the surface is porous, it is recommended to apply a primer coat in the range of 70-150 g/sqm. The use of primer is advisable in all situations, and adherence to the manufacturer’s instructions is essential. Improper application of primer may adversely affect the efficiency of the membrane.
