Water-Based Polyurethane Waterproof Coating (951) Construction Process

The implementation adheres to the 5.1 standard outlined in GB50207-94 “Technical Specifications for Roofing Engineering”:

The base layer treatment requires that the surface be level, stable, clean, and devoid of moisture, with the yin and yang angles shaped into arcs. Any existing old roofing must be cleared of cracked and bulging waterproof materials as well as dust, and any low-concave damaged areas should be leveled. Leak-prone areas must be sealed initially, ensuring the base layer is flat and free from standing water. Special features such as water dropouts and grid seams should be sealed flexibly at the outset. The application process typically begins with the yin and yang angles, followed by vertical surfaces, and concludes with larger areas.

For primer application, mix water and paint in a 1:3 weight ratio, ensuring thorough stirring before use. The primer enhances the coating’s permeability to the base layer and improves adhesion.

Coating can be applied through rolling, scraping, or brushing techniques. It is recommended to utilize a thin-layer, multiple-coating approach, with each layer kept relatively thin. Generally, the process involves 3-4 applications, achieving a total thickness of 1.5-2.0mm. Once the coating has dried and formed a film, additional layers can be applied, and weak points should be reinforced with appropriate materials.

After each layer has dried, a quality inspection of the construction should be conducted. Any instances of leakage or bulging must be addressed and repaired accordingly.
